Seeking for a reliable orthodontist in Hampshire you can trust?

Here for you

Here at Winchester Orthodontics, we are not your archetypal orthodontic practice. Where other, innumerable practices may simply opt for the one-size-fits-all approach to orthodontics, whereby a patient is just one in a series of identical cases, here at Winchester Orthodontics, we make an active effort to connect and get to know each of our patients on a personal level. In doing so, we’ve found our patients to feel far more at ease and comfortable within our practice, as if they share a good rapport with their orthodontist in Hampshire, then a far more mutually advantageous relationship which is built on a foundation of trust and understanding can blossom. It is this etho which has helped us gain the reputation we enjoy as a trusted and reliable orthodontist in Hampshire with whom patients can feel comfortable and at ease.

Hidden wonder

One of the most popular methods of discreet orthodontics which is provided by our orthodontist in Hampshire, is the installation of lingual braces. This is a discreet method of dental realignment which is similar to conventional braces, in that it features brackets which are fused to a patient's teeth, and has wires connecting them. However, the main difference is that they are fused to the backs of a patient's teeth, so that when worn the braces are practically invisible. This revolutionary method of dental device was first pioneered by an American orthodontist in 1975, named Craven Kruz. After Kruz first successfully installed these braces for a Playboy Bunny in 1976, the procedure became vastly popular for celebrities and famous personalities across the US. Kruz’s design was far from perfect, however, and since the 70s the design of lingual braces has moved on, with scientists and engineers making use of new and emerging methodologies and materials available. Today, the design is practically flawless, and patients can enjoy a treatment which allows them to achieve flawless, straighter smiles, without attracting any unwanted scrutiny or attention.

Discreetly different

Another method of discreet orthodontics which is vastly popular, and available from us here at Winchester Orthodontics, is the installation of the Invisalign alignment retainer system. This is a relatively new form of discreet orthodontics which is vastly different from all previous types. The main defining difference between the Invisalign system and other forms of orthodontics is that it negates the need for fused brackets or wires, by replacing them with a removable, plastic retainer. This retainer is constructed from a specialist plastic known as SmartTrack, and utilises specifically targeted pressure points within the retainer to gradually push a patient's teeth back into their correct specifications. This revolutionary idea was initially conjured up in 1997, by Stanford University graduate Zia Chishti, who - after struggling with the restrictions of his own dental braces - decided to take matters into his own hands, and create the Invisalign retainer. Since its initial launch in 2001, the Invisalign system has helped bring smiles to the faces of over 7 million people, with 1.4 million of these being teenagers. The main reason for this method’s success within the demographics of teengaers and young adults, is that - as each retainer is moulded around the specific shapes and contours of each patient's teeth, and is completely unique - when it is worn, it fits so snugly over their teeth that it becomes practically invisible. This allows for younger, and perhaps slightly more impressionable people to undergo essential dental realignment, without attracting any unwanted scrutiny or attention from their peers.
