About Winchester Orthodontic Practice
Winchester orthodontics practice has provided private orthodontic treatment to children and adults since 1989. The practice is renowned for having experienced specialist orthodontist along with knowledgeable staff.
The practice is located on the corner of Barnes Close , just off St Cross Road part of St Lawrence House, 2 Barnes Close, Winchester. The practice is in walking distance from the train station, city centre and bus routes.
The orthodontic team have been carefully selected to care for patients and have a passion for orthodontics. The team includes two specialist orthodontist with over 30 years experience along with an orthodontic therapist, orthodontic nurses, patient co-ordinator TCO and a practice manager/receptionist. All are very experienced, fully qualified and able to discuss any queries you may have.
Our team is fully up to date with the latest techniques and developments in orthodontics especially Spark aligner, fixed braces and Dental Mentioning.
Patient Journey
New Patient Free Consultation Process
All patients are greeted by a member of our friendly team, at reception, where a medical history questionnaire is completed.
You will be introduced to Dr Suzette Mulder, our
specialist orthodontist. She will discuss your concerns and examine your teeth thoroughly.
On completion of the assessment, our treatment coordinator will explain your treatment plan. She will advise you of the associated fee, payment plan and answer any queries that you may have.
Following your appointment, we will send you a hard copy of our discussion. The free consultation lasts between 30-45 minutes.
What happens at your appointments
Records
Should you decide to proceed with
orthodontic treatment, your next appointment will be to have the initial
records taken of your teeth.
The records consist of an xray, photographs and digital study models which will confirm Dr Suzette Mulder's
preliminary findings.
A signed copy of your consent and the
initial payment will be required. You should allow 20 minutes for this
appointment.
Orthodontic Appliance Fit
The next appointment will be to fit your chosen orthodontic appliance.
Once the appliance has been fitted, we will provide full verbal and
written instructions. This appointment will take between 45-60 minutes.
Regular Adjustments
Adjustments are required approximately every 6-8 weeks.
The appointments are to activate your appliances, assess the progress of tooth movement and to provide further advice, if required.
These appointments take
approximately 20 minutes.
Brace Removal
The appliance will be removed and retainers provided to maintain your
teeth in their new position.
You should allow 45-60 minutes for this appointment.

You have completed your active orthodontic treatment!
Retainer Reviews
We will continue to see you for the following 12 months, after your
braces have been removed.
There will be 3 appointments scheduled to review the position of your teeth, assess the stability of your
retainers and record a final series of photographs.
Your retainers are the most important stage of your orthodontic treatment and should be worn for life!
These appointments last 15 minutes.
