Orthodontist in Hampshire near you!

Here at Winchester Orthodontic Practice, we offer a wide range of services to help improve, prevent, and treat dental irregularities. The word orthodontist comes from the Greek word ortho “straight” and odon “correct”. When you come to your orthodontist in Hampshire, you get exactly that, a straighter, corrected smile. We offer a variety of treatments; including Damon braces, lingual braces, traditional braces, and of course, the increasingly popular Invisalign.

Damon braces

Damon braces come in two forms here at the Winchester Orthodontic Practice; metal and clear. Both choices are able to treat many dental irregularities. The metal Damon braces differ from traditional braces in that they are smaller in size, the elastic ‘ties’ are not necessary, they are comfortable, and they tend to be easy to clean. The clear Damon braces have all the benefits of the metal type, while also having the added advantage of transparency. Damon braces are a fast, comfortable method that delivers satisfying results. What’s more, treatment is relatively short, lasting on average, six months. During this time no one even recognises you have braces.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces are an alternative option for the patient who desires an incognito treatment. By attaching the metal brackets to the underside of your teeth, you get both the advantages of metal braces that work on your teeth every hour of every day while not being the first thing someone sees when you smile. Each lingual bracket is custom-fitted to the patient’s mouth to best suit your needs which allows for precise control.

Traditional braces

Traditional metal braces are a tried and true method that achieves consistently positive results to straightening teeth. Our metal braces allow the patient to choose their colour bands if you feel you want to add a bit of personality to your treatment.

Invisalign

Invisalign, commonly misspelt as Invisaline, has become in recent times one of the most sought after orthodontic treatments there is. The procedure is a treatment that is both inconspicuous and easy to wear. Using sophisticated 3D technology, our orthodontist uses software to calculate the exact amount of pressure and detail needed for your unique set of teeth. The aligners are clear and customised to fit you. These are realigned every 6-8 weeks to optimise the precision further finding the smile that will suit you. Another advantage of Invisalign is that you can remove the clear plastic mould of your teeth for eating, brushing, and flossing, maintaining your healthy dental hygiene with ease. Just make sure that Invisalign braces are in for at least 22 hours of the day.

Worried if you can’t commit to this procedure? Here at Winchester Orthodontist, we offer Invisalign Teen, which helps you keep track of wearing them. The main differences between the two Invisaligns are:

  • Little blue dots that fade over two weeks if you are wearing them enough

  • Small lumps on the aligners to optimise the movement of your teeth into the correct position

  • Space, for undeveloped teeth that still have to come through
