Over the past 10 years, our specialist orthodontist in Hampshire, Dr Suzette Mulder, has successfully completed over 5,000 orthodontic cases at Winchester Orthodontics and her exceptional work and clinical knowledge is evident through her obtaining her MSc from the University of Pretoria as well as a Masters in Orthodontics and her MOrth from the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2008.
Dr Mulder believes in treating each patient as she would a family member, a philosophy which our carefully selected team strives to adhere to at our practice.
Made up of dental professionals, including a patient coordinator, practice manager and orthodontic nurses, our team at Winchester Orthodontics ensures that they manage the expectations of every patient, by using their skills and experience to provide a service that our patients will be satisfied with and to deal with any orthodontic queries they may have.
In order to maintain and continue to provide high quality treatments to our patients, each member of staff also regularly undertakes postgraduate training which allows them to keep well informed regarding the constant development of orthodontic appliances and techniques.
What do we have to offer?
At Winchester Orthodontics, we offer treatments and appliances which aim to improve the smiles of our patients. Not only are we a leading Invisalign provider in Hampshire, we offer other cosmetic appliances including lingual braces, which are fixed behind your teeth and are practically invisible, our traditional metal braces and Damon clear braces to name a few.
Lingual braces are made up of the same components that make up conventional braces, however they are unique in that they are attached to the back of a patient’s teeth, making them invisible. Because of this method, lingual braces are a popular choice for adults who want to correct their teeth and improve their smiles without the treatment being visible to others. Lingual braces, also known as hidden braces, can take any time between a few months to two years to complete treatment, all depending on how much straightening an individual needs.
There are also two types of lingual brace; a ‘social’ lingual brace and the standard lingual brace. The ‘social’ lingual brace is ideal for cosmetic fixes such as gaps and is made to move the front six to eight teeth only. This treatment can also be completed within a few months. The standard lingual brace however, is designed to treat crooked, misaligned teeth and it can be placed on the whole arch. This treatment is more likely to take up to two years.
