Invisalign, sometimes misspelt as Invisalign, is one of the most common treatments that our orthodontist Hampshire performs. This invisible alternative to braces can fix any overcrowded or misaligned teeth to provide more confidence in your new straightened smile. These aligners have no metal or sharp edges that may cause discomfort, and they won’t make you change your diet as they can be taken out before you eat and are much easier to clean thoroughly once removed. Using the instructions sent straight from our team, your tray aligners will be created so that they are unique to your mouth. They then apply a controlled amount of pressure to your teeth to move them into the desired position. The treatment length does ultimately depend on your teeth and how long you decide to keep the trays in for.

Lingual braces

Where traditional metal braces are placed on the front of your teeth, lingual braces are attached to the back of your teeth. Although they are similar to the braces you’re familiar with, this option allows for the same results without any of the possible embarrassment that may come from being an adult undergoing a teeth straightening process. Due to the unique shape of the back of your teeth, the brackets from your braces are produced to directly fit your own, offering the peace of mind that comes with knowing your braces are designed for you.

Fixed functional appliance

In the event that your bite is misaligned or you’re suffering from neck ache, jaw ache or headaches, our fixed functional appliance can help to relieve such problems. If the fixed functional appliances are not available, it is standard for dental practises to offer headgear, the removal of teeth or surgical procedures. Each of these treatments has its own set of risks and benefits, but the fixed functional appliance makes sure you can get all of the benefits and none of the risks. We will fit the appliance here at the practice, and you will not need to do anything to it after that; the device will work 24 hours a day, without your intervention.

Teeth whitening

Over time, it is normal for a person's teeth to become discoloured; this can be caused by a variety of things, including drinking coffee, eating curry or smoking. Here at Winchester Orthodontics, we offer an at-home alternative to teeth whitening, meaning you won’t have to keep making trips to the dental practice while taking part in the things you enjoy. We will supply you with a teeth whitening gel that can be placed out evenly within your custom-made trays and worn overnight. It really is as simple as that!
