When it comes to straightening your teeth, there are lots of options out there to choose from, and at Winchester Orthodontics, we are proud to offer many of them to our patients. Our team is very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to giving these treatments, so you are sure to be well looked after throughout the whole process.
Traditional metal braces
One of the options we offer for teeth straightening is the traditional metal brace, which is very common and has been used for a long time. We use this type of brace more commonly with teenagers, as it can be very effective in improving any early imperfections that may occur after all of their adult teeth have come through. We do, of course, provide these braces for adults too, as they provide an extremely efficient method of teeth straightening, at no matter what age.
These braces work by our orthodontist Hampshire attaching small metal brackets on the front of each of your teeth, and connecting all of them together with wires, which will move all of your teeth into a straighter position. We use these braces for a wide variety of imperfections, such as overcrowding, gaps in your teeth, overbites, underbites and more.
Invisalign
Another popular option that we provide at our practice is Invisalign, which uses a very different method to traditional braces, but is still very effective when it comes to straightening your teeth. This treatment is great if you are looking for a more discreet way to improve the look of your smile, as we will provide you with clear aligners.
The aligners that our orthodontist Hampshire provides are made out of thin plastic, and are custom-made to your teeth. We will give you multiple trays at a time, and you will wear each one for about 2 weeks. They are all slightly different, and each set of aligners will gently move your teeth into a straighter position over time. You will only need to come to our practice for check-up appointments every 4-6 weeks, and this is when we can also provide you with more aligners if needed.
Damon Clear
Another treatment that we also offer to our patients is the Damon Clear brace, which uses the same technique as brackets and wires, but the brackets we use are clear, which gives a more discreet look. This is a great option if you are looking for the effectiveness of traditional braces, but don’t want to draw any unwanted attention to your teeth.
Lingual braces
A different type of brace that our orthodontist Hampshire can provide you with is the lingual brace, which also uses a similar method to traditional fixed braces. The difference is that instead of the braces being on the front of your teeth, they are attached to the back. This means that it doesn’t even look like you have braces in, whilst still getting great results, which has been a great boost for our patients.
Why choose braces?
When you have misaligned teeth, it can be uncomfortable, embarrassing and will most likely get worse over time. This is why we are so happy to offer braces to our patients. No matter which type you choose, you will be able to improve the look of your natural smile, and get results that can last a lifetime.
