Take your pick
You’ve spent hours deliberating whether to get braces or not, flicked through old photos with your smile and wonky teeth on display, and spent more time than you’d like to admit checking out your teeth in the mirror. Now the time has come to bite the bullet and invest in braces. Great, the hard part is over right? Except it isn’t that easy after all. Now you’re faced with yet more decision-making. A quick Internet search reveals just how many choices there are for adults who want straighter teeth. So, who can you turn to for trusted advice?
Our orthodontist in Hampshire at Winchester Orthodontics, that’s who. Dr Suzette Mulder has treated over 4300 patients with effective teeth straightening and she can help you too. Using her wealth of experience and knowledge of orthodontics, she can help you pick the right braces for your particular circumstances.
Here are just 2 of the many teeth-straightening devices she can offer you as an orthodontist in Hampshire:
Often misspelt Invisaline, this treatment barely resembles braces as you know them. Clear, plastic aligners are custom-made to snugly fit over your teeth. You’ll get a series of them, with each one tasked with pushing your teeth that little bit further towards their straightened positions. You take your aligners out to eat, drink, brush and floss. Just make sure you clean your teeth before you pop your aligners back on and wear them for at least 20-22 hours a day.
An innovative twist on traditional fixed metal braces, these braces use brackets and wires attached to the back of the teeth, not the front. This makes them hidden from view but also means they are capable of correcting more severe misalignments of the teeth.
Even more on offer
There are many more braces out there to choose from depending on whether you want a more holistic treatment or if you want to focus on your front teeth alone, whether discretion is your top priority or speed, your budget and your lifestyle. Suzette, our Hampshire orthodontist, will guide you through the pros and cons of each of these treatments and how they match up with your unique set of criteria.
