Looking to seek the services of an orthodontist in Hampshire?

Are you unhappy with your smile? Do you feel like your teeth could be straighter? Are you based in Hampshire? If you have answered yes to all of these questions it may be time to visit an orthodontist in Hampshire.

What is an orthodontist?

Orthodontists are dental professionals who are trained to prevent, diagnose and treat dental irregularities. At Winchester Orthodontics, we provide a wide range of treatments which aim to straighten crooked teeth, align jaws correctly and fix bad bites. We have an orthodontist in Hampshire that provides orthodontic treatments which uses appliances in order to correct the teeth of our patients. Each treatment is dependent on our patients and is decided after an initial consultation at our practice.

What to expect at your consultation

At your first consultation at our practice, you will be greeted by a member of our staff before being asked to fill out a questionnaire about your medical history. After this you will be seen by our specialist orthodontist, Dr Suzette Mulder. Dr Mulder has completed over 5000 orthodontic cases and with her specific experience she will do a thorough examination of your teeth and discuss the suitable options. Once the assessment has been completed, you will then meet with our treatment coordinator, who will explain your advised treatment plan, the cost and answer any queries that you may have. After your consultation you will be sent a copy of the discussion for you to decide whether you would like to go ahead with the treatment.

What happens next?

If, after receiving the notes from your consultation, you decide you want to go ahead with the treatment, you will be asked to come back for a second appointment where an X-ray will be taken of your teeth along with photographs and digital study models. The following appointment is when your chosen orthodontic appliance will be fitted. These appointments usually take between 45 to 60 minutes. After the appliance has been fitted, appointments will be scheduled every 6 to 8 weeks in order to check the progress of your teeth and to provide any further advice, if necessary.

What's the best option for me?

The orthodontists in Hampshire have been specially trained to fit many of the orthodontic appliances that we offer for our patients. We offer traditional metal braces, lingual braces and Damon metal braces. Another orthodontic treatment which is proving popular with adults is the use of Damon Clear braces.

Damon Clear braces

Damon Clear braces unlike the traditional braces and aligners use tieless braces and high technology archwires which have been proven clinically to move teeth up to 6 months faster than traditional braces, leaving our patients with great results. As they are clear braces, they are discreet and unnoticeable and they are resistant to staining and discoloration throughout your treatment.

Whilst undergoing your treatment, it is also important to maintain a good oral hygiene regime including brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing after every meal. By speaking to a qualified orthodontist in Hampshire, they will be able to give you specialist advice to ensure that your dental journey is a comfortable one.
