What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an invisible aligner treatment that our orthodontist Hampshire provides. They are clear trays that add controlled pressure to your teeth in order to straighten them and give you back a smile you can be confident in. When you make your first appointment with us, our orthodontist Hampshire will make sure that you’re suitable for the treatment before showing you the results you should expect within a certain time frame.
How do they work?
Your Invisalign treatment will start with 3D scans, images, x-rays and oral exams to make sure there are no problems to be concerned about. From the information gathered, sets of trays will be produced that are unique to your mouth. As you will have to replace each tray with a new one after a week, the trays will all be slightly different in order to get your teeth straightened in the way you desire. The change is subtle and gradual as the aligners use only a controlled amount of force while moving the teeth. Your aligners should be worn for around 20-22 hours a day in order to get the full benefit out of them. During the treatment process, you must attend your appointments with us so that we can keep an eye out for any signs of dental distress.
What are the benefits?
There is a large variety of benefits to Invisalign. As the trays are completely removable, there is no reason for you to change your diet. You don’t have to worry about any food getting stuck in between the aligners or hard foods damaging them. You don’t have to miss out on the things you live for!
When you remove the trays, you can clean them thoroughly and make sure you remove any growing bacteria that could cause plaque. We’re also glad to inform you that brushing and flossing will be as easy as ever once the aligners are taken out!
When your teeth are straightened, your entire dental health will improve. Your teeth will not be loose and moving around your jaw, meaning you will not suffer from sunken facial features or bone degeneration. The benefits of Invisalign continue after installation.
