You may have heard about the new ‘invisible brace’ and wondered what it is all about. If you have teeth that are crowded, too far apart, or have moved since wearing a conventional brace, Invisalign may give you a new reason to smile!
This brace is nearly invisible so almost no one can tell you are wearing Invisalign, this means you can smile as much during your treatment as you will after. Throughout the day you can take you Invisalign aligners out so you can eat and drink what you like, and studies have shown that it can be better for your dental hygiene during treatment. With no metal or sharp edges, Invisalign is comfortable to wear and does not cause allergies.

Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Invisalign uses your Orthodontist’s instructions to create a series of custom made removable mouth trays (aligners). These aligners apply a controlled amount of force to your teeth, causing them to move. Each aligner is slightly different, moving your teeth gradually into the desired position.
As Invisalign only works while you are wearing the aligners, we recommend they are worn full time day and night (min 20–22 hours). Each aligner is worn for 1 weeks, (before moving onto the next in the series), moving your teeth millimeter by millimeter, week by week, until you reach your desired result
Treatment length will vary depending on your case, but the average Invisalign treatment is eighteen months to twenty four months.
During treatment you should attend regular appointment with us, until it is determined that your treatment is complete. Once you have worn all of the aligners supplied for you, there may be some fine tuning to create that perfect smile.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
You will be seen by our Invisalign accredited Orthodontist, to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for treatment. During this free consultation we can give you an indication of an achievable final result, as well as the length, and cost of your treatment. You will then need to attend a second appointment to get things going.
At your following appointment we will take a 3D scan of your teeth then photographs and x-rays of your teeth will be taken and sent to Invisalign. These will be used to construct the 3D image of how your teeth will look at each stage, from the beginning, to the end of treatment. It will take a few days for this imagery to be produced into your ClinCheck video.
The treatment software allows you to see a model of the proposed treatment plan, and discuss what is most important to you before you start.
